Noko sighed as he made his way through the large Kaijuu manner. This place always felt so foreign to him even though it was supposed to be his home. He rarely talked to anybody here and when he did it was only a "hello" or something along those lines. He had already decided years ago that most of his family members hated him and that the only reason they kept him around was so that he wouldn't disgrace the Kaijuu name. He glanced around as he made his way down one of the house's long hallways that had several doors on either side. He had just arrived home from school and he had decided he would sit around on what could only be thought of as a back porch. He was still dressed in his school uniform, with his button up shirt wide open and a set over sized headphones hanging around his neck.
Before making his way to the back he decided he would try and change into some street clothes. He didn't want to get his uniform dirty otherwise he'd end up trying to wash it the night before and end up going to school in a sopping wet uniform. He took a few turns and eventually ended up in his room, which was in the back right corner of the house. He pulled open the sliding door and threw off his clothes. It only took him a few seconds to find a tight pair of jeans and a black t-shirt with a strange American band name written across it. He didn't bother to put on any shoes or socks and just made his way over to the porch.
After opening the back door and looking around Noko confirmed that there was no one here. He smiled, revealing his set of razor sharp teeth, and made his way over to a wooden bench with a cherry blossom tree sitting behind it. He hopped onto the bench and then laid down on it. He push his headphones up to his ears and then turned on his mp3 player. The sound of what could only be described as an American rock group filled the backyard. Noko crossed his legs and put his hands behind his head as he let the outside world disappear around him.
This was something of a daily ritual of his although he had been unable to perform it due to how hectic the last few days had been. Usually no one seemed to bother the boy when he laid under the tree but for some reason Noko had a feeling that it wouldn't last today. It wasn't his sixth sense that was telling him. It was more like he knew that strange things were starting to occur around him.

Well, it was either somebody was going to be bothering Noko, or Noko was going to be bothering somebody else. Most like the latter since somebody was up in the tree...asleep by the looks of it. He groaned in his sleep at the loud music. "Turn down the music..." he mumbled, eyes opening sleepily. "Trying to sleep up here..."
Now why would Zane sleep in a tree? Well, he liked to sleep...in trees obviously. He peered downwards at Noko, recognizing the band slightly, but not really caring at the moment since he was still half-asleep. And still wearing his school uniform...he really hadn't bothered to change out of it because after school Zane always took a catnap in a random tree somewhere, today, he chose this tree.
Zane yawned, and sat up gracefully on the branch, rubbing his eyes. "Hmm...tired..." he mumbled, blinking the sleep out of his eyes before he neatly hopped down from the tree and landed on his feet. He yawned again before pulling out various twigs and leaves from his hair that always seemed to gather. He shook his head to the side lightly to get out anything else that might have gotten into his hair.

Noko glanced up at the tree and let out a growl when he heard someone tell him to turn down his music. This was his spot so why should anyone be able to tell him what to do. "Why should I?" He called up to who ever it was. The person who was up there must have been asleep otherwise Noko's ability to feel movement would have warned him about them. The shark's first thought was to get up and shake the tree mercilessly until whoever it was that was up there fell out. But if he did that he might cause all of the leaves to fall out and then there would be no shade for him to sit in. He pushed himself up from his comfortable spot and pulled his headphones down, although he didn't turn down the volume or turn them off.
He sniffed the air and glanced up once he recognized who it was. Zane the two tailed cat. He thought to himself as he observed his cousin. "What are you doing here this is my spot." He said as he crossed his arms and barred his shark like teeth at the younger boy. Although the two rarely spoke except for family get togethers he did know a bit about him. He knew that he came from America and that his English was probably better than Noko's but that was about it. He was about to climb up after him but before he could the younger boy jumped out of the tree and landed on his feet. d**n cat....
Since he was young Noko had created a kind of wall that kept him distant from his family members since many of them seemed to fear or hate him. Since Zane was ten when he met Noko he might not have known all about the boy's reputation or his curse. But at the same time Noko didn't know very much about his U.S. born cousin either. If he actually took the time to talk to him instead of ignore him, like he had been doing all these years, he might have actually been able to befriend him.

Zane kept his calm composure around the Shark, having heard about him from various other family members that knew about the curse. A smile crossed his pale face and he bowed his head slightly. "I didn't know this was your spot...I just tend to take a cat nap after school in a random tree...today I seem to have choosen this lovely Sakura tree to sleep in." he said pleasantly. "And you also don't have to turn down your music...I know this band, just not very well..."
You would think, that with Zane being the Two-tailed Cat, he would be much more...cat-like than being all pleasant, but nope, he was naturally a pleasant guy...the only way he wouldn't be pleasant is if the Nekotoma took over his conciouscness, which he could feel the spirit of it tugging at it every moment, but he somehow managed to ignore it by merely keeping his calm.
"You must be Noko-san..." Zane said after a moment, still with the pleasant smile on his face. "I don't think we've really met before, have we?" he asked curiously, tilting his head curiously to the side. Curiousity killed the cat they say, hopefully his wouldn't get him killed one day...

Noko looked at his cousin and then sighed. It was hard for him to interact with people when they didn't respond to his violent attitude in an equally violent manner. With that he shoved his hands into his pocket and just listened to the other boy. Anyone else would've tried to start something with me. Well at least any guy from school would've. He told himself as he looked over the cat. "Yeah well...Don't worry about it." He said, referring to the fact that Zane didn't know that this was his spot. How could he know that it was my spot he's usually asleep around this time. Noko told himself, a rather wise observation coming from the usually air headed shark.
"Yeah I'm Nokogiri." He said stating his name. It was a rather ironic name when you thought about it. Nokogiri meant saw and just by glancing at the jagged fangs he called teeth you could tell that the name fit him perfectly. Although there was something people usually forgot to factor in. In the right hands a saw was a useful tool that could be used to help people, while in the wrong hands it was just as dangerous as any sword. "And your Zane." He said leaving off the honorific as he usually did with everyone.
"So you've heard of them?" He asked as he tapped his head phones. Usually no one around this place knew the bands that Noko listened to. When ever he did meet someone though that appreciated his taste in music he had to have a conversation with them. That was just how much the boy loved his American music. He would drop his usual tough guy act and sit down and have a nice normal chat.

Well, Zane couldn't really interact in an equally violent manner...as the Two-tailed Cat, any anger would cause him to transform...and he really didn't like that because...he just didn't. He didn't like the be violent period. It would bring back memories of his childhood...And plus, well, he was just naturally non-violent. He yawned slightly, stretching. "Never did finish my catnap...or well, I'll take a long one tomorrow..."
"Yes, I am." Zane said, smiling yet again. He sure smiled a lot...despite the fact he was shy, but maybe it was because he was with another like him? Who knows...but it was odd for him since he was normally quite shy.
"I've heard of them...I just don't know many of their songs...my older brother used to listen to them all the time back in the States." Zane said lightly. "After awhile it got a little bit annoying listening to the same songs over and over again, but...it could have been worse..."

Noko, who was a very violent person, was somewhat puzzled at how the cat was treating him. He decided that he would take advantage of it and attempt to turn his "cousin" into a friend. "I don't think I could ever get tired of them." He said as he plopped down in the bench where he had been sitting. While he was sure that eventually he would grow tired of them he knew that he wouldn't anytime soon. He found their lyrics interesting, although hard to understand, and enjoyed their sound. Sound was everything to Noko, even when he was on the verge of transforming a peaceful song could settle his blood lust and allow him to remain in his human form.
"But then again I'm not being forced to listen to them everyday." He said as he flashed a fanged smile over at Zane. Finding that talking about music would eventually get boring Noko took the oppritunity to change the conversation toward the United States. "So what was it like in the States?" he asked as he placed both of his arms on the back of the bench. "I've always wanted to go there and it'd be nice to know what a fellow Kaijuu thought of the place."
